Fixed Braces
Perfectly Attached
Fixed braces are an optimal way for many children and adolescents and increasingly also for adults to correct their tooth malposition in a targeted manner. Putting in a fixed apparatus involves the attachment of so-called brackets to the tooth surface. If necessary, we cement ribbons on the molars. Positioning and fixing of the brackets are crucial for the desired final position of the tooth.
The fixed devices are designed according to individual diagnosis and personal taste – with brackets made of metal, tooth-colored ceramic brackets, colorful rubbers and much more.
The average treatment time is usually between 12 and 18 months. Check-ups will be carried out four weeks apart.
Multi-bracket-appliances are firmly connected to the teeth. They are made of different materials:
Metal brackets are usually made of stainless steel and are particularly frequently used due to their good effect and low cost.
Gold-colored brackets are metal brackets with a thin gold plating. The additional costs for these brackets are usually not reimbursed by the health insurance companies.
Transparent brackets are made of ceramic or artificial sapphires. They are particularly popular with adult patients as they are much more unobstrusive than metal brackets. The additional costs for these brackets are usually not reimbursed by the health insurance companies.
